My poor weblog...
... I've neglected you so.
My life has been all sorts of topsy turvy lately, but it's mostly good stuff. I went on a cruise to the Bahamas with a bunch of my friends. Girls only! It was a lot of fun and we didn't see a bit of bad weather the whole time, while Hurricane Felix was brewing just south of us. My job is going well and even though working for The Man can be a little stressful (I finally met with a client who yelled at me so much that I cried when I got back to my cube!) I'm finally starting to get the hang of things. In October it will be one year there, so it's about time. I've been slowly but surely losing weight. To speed things along I joined Weight Watchers with my roommates. It's nice to have everyone in the house eating the same kind of foods, and this way the three of us have a built in reason to hang out on Thursdays. This will work well once all of our shows come back on in the fall.
What else? Well, I love living in Kirkwood. This place is like Pleasantville but not so stiff. Our house is really cute and now that my second roommate has moved in with the nice furniture it looks like real grown-ups live here, not just girls transitioning from college anymore. Now I just can't wait for Christmas! I know exactly where the tree is going and it's going to be so nice to decorate a whole house for the holidays. Julie picked up her new fire pit tonight so we plan on having an official house warming party sometime in October so we can put that thing to use.
This weekend I'll be visiting Sarah in Carbondale where she can test my handy-woman skills around her house. I love visiting Sarah and Michael... almost too much probably. I mean, I'm not even related, but because of them Carbondale is probably one of my favorite places to be.
And I don't want to jinx anything by talking about it too much, but I kinda met a guy. There's a whole interesting story to how we met and began talking, but I still feel like it's too soon to tell. Right now I'm just really happy to be talking/hanging out with a cool guy who has so far proven himself to be funny, smart, nice, sweet, honest, and interesting. I don't want to screw anything up by jumping to conclusions or moving too fast, so I'm simply enjoying the fact that he's here in my life right now.
So yeah, things are pretty rosy over here in my little corner of the world. I'd like to say that I'll get back on here regularly, but I shouldn't make any promises with my current track record. We shall see.

Let me know when you have your house warming party. I'd love to come by and see your new place.
And if you need another couch let me know. I've got a spare we've been trying to give to a good home. It's in my Christmas tree's spot.
